Four Service Areas. One Standard of Advice.
The water changes from city to city. Our standard does not. Every recommendation should explain what the system is intended to treat, why it is sized for the home, what the installation includes, and what support is available after setup.
Edmonton, Alberta
Moderately Hard Water. Chloramine-Aware Treatment.
Edmonton’s municipal water is moderately hard, typically around 10 grains per gallon. EPCOR also identifies chloramine as the disinfectant residual in the distribution system. Those are two separate treatment decisions: a softener addresses calcium and magnesium hardness, while taste or odour concerns may require filtration selected specifically for chloramine.
For Edmonton homes, we size the softener around household demand and confirm whether filtration is needed instead of assuming one tank should solve every concern.
Available locally: water assessment, softener sizing, whole-home filtration, reverse osmosis, installation coordination, replacement review and repair support.

Calgary, Alberta
Hardness That Changes With Season and Supply.
Calgary water is hard, but it is not one fixed number. The City’s published data spans approximately 141 to 274 mg/L as calcium carbonate, or about 8.2 to 16 grains per gallon, depending on season and treatment plant. That range is wide enough to affect softener sizing, capacity, and programming.
We use current local information as the starting point, then confirm the number of people, bathrooms, peak demand, and installation conditions before recommending a system. If the priority is chlorine taste or odour rather than scale, filtration is considered as a separate stage.
Available locally: water assessment, softener installation, whole-home filtration, reverse osmosis, replacement review and repair support.

Mississauga, Ontario
Moderately Hard Lake Ontario Water. A Measured Response.
Mississauga is supplied through the South Peel Drinking Water System from Lake Ontario. Peel Region reports moderately hard water, generally about 120 to 130 mg/L as calcium carbonate, or roughly 7.0 to 7.6 grains per gallon, with chlorine used for disinfection.
That means the right recommendation is often about preference and priorities, not alarm. A softener can reduce scale and improve soap performance. If chlorine taste or odour is the main concern, carbon filtration may be more relevant. We clarify the goal first so the system is not overbuilt.
Available locally: city-water assessment, softener sizing and installation, chlorine-focused filtration, reverse osmosis, replacement review and support.

Red Deer, Alberta
River-Sourced Water That Changes With the Season.
Red Deer draws its drinking water from the Red Deer River. The City notes that spring runoff can change hardness, taste, odour, and colour, and its monthly reports show meaningful hardness variation. Recent readings have ranged from about 159 to 228 mg/L as calcium carbonate, roughly 9.3 to 13.3 grains per gallon.
For Red Deer homes, a current hardness setting matters. We confirm
the water conditions and household demand before sizing or programming a softener, and we separate seasonal taste or odour questions from the hardness decision.
Available locally: water assessment, softener installation, filtration review, reverse osmosis, replacement planning and repair support.
