FAQ: Water 101 + Our Free Consultations
Hard Water
What's actually in my water?
It depends on where you live — but most water has some combination of minerals, chlorine, sediment, and potentially more serious contaminants like lead, bacteria, or microplastics. Even Well Water can carry iron, sulfur, or hard water minerals. That’s why it’s helpful to tell us what you’re noticing (smells, stains, taste, etc.).
What does a water filtration system actually do?
Filtration systems remove or reduce unwanted stuff from your water — like chlorine, sediment, bacteria, or hard minerals. There are different systems for different problems, and some homes only need one stage of filtration, while others might need two or three. We help you figure that out.
What’s the difference between a filter pitcher, an under-sink filter, and a whole home system?
Pitchers are great for drinking water. Under-sink systems are great for drinking water. Whole-home systems treat all the water in your house — so showers, laundry, dishes, and more feel better and cleaner.
If you’re not sure what you need, that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Who’s actually reviewing my answers?
Real people on our team — not AI, not a call center. Our water filtration experts have helped thousands of families find the right setup. We care deeply about clean water and want to make it easy for you to get there.
What if I don’t know what kind of water I have?
That’s totally fine — you don’t need to be a water expert. Just tell us what you’ve noticed (like taste, smell, or build-up), and we’ll do the rest. If needed, we can even help you test your water.
Do I have to be handy to install these systems?
Not necessarily! Some filters are super easy to install yourself. Others might need a plumber. We’ll guide you based on what you’re comfortable with — and always provide clear instructions.
